3 Ways To Reboot Your Office Using Cloud
Cloud has become a mainstay of the digital revolution. It has re-energised the tech industry and is a fundamental part of business and how we all transact. It provides multiple opportunities for companies to strategically realign themselves to provide better customer experience and engagement with staff. It is a business revolution.
Here are three stupidly simple reasons why it works:
1) Everyone knows how to use it. Everyone is familiar with browser based search. We all browse and buy online. We all research purchases, services, experiences online prior to making buying commitments. There is something refreshingly simple for staff to start their working day by opening an internet browser, navigating to a log on page and opening their business software. Forward and back buttons ease navigation and staff can keep multiple pages open to move from one piece of information to another with ease. It’s just as easy to use out the office as in. We have just about reached the tipping point where people browse using mobile technology almost as often as on PCs. From the perspective of training, engagement and user experience cloud has made life a lot simpler.
2) Clear the clutter. I have a friend who is an expert in workplace design. She can tell you how there is a direct link between people and space which can improve productivity through better engagement. That cupboard in your office which doubles as your server room could be used to store all the files and folders which cause clutter on people’s desks. Better still, get VOiP as your telephony system and get rid of those old fashioned handsets on your desks. Use the spare space to keep a plant (which according to The Guardian will increase staff happiness and improve productivity).
3) Reinvent Roles. I didn’t really start to understand how my role contributed to the wider company success until I was invited onto my first senior management team. All of a sudden my eyes were opened. Having access to all the business critical information allowed me to reassess my role and improve my performance dramatically. I started to share key information with my staff who had previously been happy to plod along in the dark. Guess what happened? They started to improve their performance too. Imagine if your front line staff had access to a cloud based system which showed them key business information, live from their dashboard every time they logged on. You could start a role revolution!
In short, use the cloud to reboot the entire office!
