How to Choose a Good NetSuite Solution Provider in 3 Easy Steps

NetSuite is the UK’s fastest growing cloud based ERP software; and for good reason.  It’s award winning, it’s flexible, it’s extensible and it’s easy to use, and it represents great value for money.  If you’ve decided to implement NetSuite, you have chosen a good software.  Now…how do you choose a good NetSuite solution provider?

Choosing a NetSuite Solution Provider.  3 Steps

Step 1: Discovery

Does your NetSuite solution provider take the time to really understand your business?  In the software world, we call this “discovery”.  A good discovery will encompass the provider sitting down with you and your team to conduct a series of interviews in order to better understand your business.  It doesn’t take the place of all the workshopping you will have to go through once you have started your project, but it should give the NetSuite solution provider a very thorough overview of your current business processes, problems and ambitions.

If your NetSuite solution provider doesn’t spend time getting under the bonnet of your business before you make the purchase, find a different provider.

Step 2: Candid

Your NetSuite solution provider should be candid with you.  If the solution is not right for you, they should let you know.  If your expectations of the software or the provider are unrealistic, they should be able to redirect you.  If your business processes are inefficient, you should expect to be told so.  And if you want to customise the software beyond recognition, your NetSuite solution provider should be truthful enough with you to reel you back in – even at the expense of being unpopular for a while.  You might not want to hear it but it’s better to hear some truths and have a successful implementation than to hire “yes men” and have a poorly implemented solution.

Step 3: Testimonials

Make sure you ask for testimonials from your NetSuite solution provider.   Testimonials should provide reassurance for you to back your buying decision.  If your NetSuite solution provider doesn’t have any NetSuite testimonials, it should ring alarm bells.  In any case, feel free to reach out to their existing customers and ask them to verify their experience.    The testimonial should help to build trust and credibility in advance of making the buying decision.  Look for statements which endorse product knowledge, business acumen and stand-out customer service.   Case studies can also help to endorse your buying decision.
