5 Ferry Challenge

The 5 Ferry Challenge – Call to Action

The 5 Ferry Challenge is an exciting journey through some of Scotland’s most breath taking scenery. It incorporates 4 cycle sections and 5 ferry crossing in and around North Kintyre and the Firth of Clyde.

Dreamt up 10 years ago by Cofficient Director, Paul Grant (and a few pals over a few pints!), it was originally conceived to see if it would be possible to cycle a circular route around the west coast of Scotland taking in as much of the sea and scenery within one day. The result was the 5 Ferry Challenge. It’s pretty much become an annual social outing which has grown year on year from a few pals to  “friends of friends” pitching up through word of mouth.

As it’s captured people’s imagination, the event has been put to charitable use. It’s been a pleasure working with the team at the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow.  Now Cofficient are proud to sponsor an Accountants 5 Ferry Challenge in aid of Scottish Autism.

“I thought I’d go back to my roots”, said Paul Grant who is a Chartered Accountant by trade, “having trained as an accountant and worked in accountancy firms, I know how this industry loves a challenge.  And the 5 Ferry’s is certainly a challenge.   I want to put out a call to action to see if any of the leading accountancy firms out there are brave enough to pit themselves against each other.”
